We're a little less than two days away from 1.10. As usual, here's what to expect and how to handle it:
- Something will break, but we are under "new management"
Invariably, something will not work the way it was supposed to, or possibly not how it was explained. Don't freak out and rage. Take a note, take a picture, send in a ticket, etc. Previously, we've had to wait weeks or months to get some bugs fixed. I don't anticipate this to be an issue now. Rattati has been pretty good and, in the case of the increased SP cap, very fair about correcting mistakes and moving forward quickly.
- Things will be new - compile data instead of asking for buffs/nerfs right off the bat
We are getting some potentially meta-changing new features in 1.10, more so than many patches before. Necessarily, then, the status quo has the potential to change. If it does, the change will be most radical during the first week or two of the patch. This always happens.
It was like this when the Active Scanner was introduced It was like this when the CR and RR were introduced It was like this when the Flaylock was introduced
Given this patch, we will most likely see a rise in stealth kills from all classes, more frequent active scanner use, and then possibly a shift to higher EHP suits. Expect this to happen. If something seems broken to you, take data on it over time, so that we make sensible changes instead of knee-jerk reactions.
- Get the chip off of your shoulder
Finally, a lot of people have the following reasonable and almost instinctual reaction to recent changes
"WTF CCP! You ruined my _____! Everything's ruined, you money grubbing pigs!"
While the original DUST team might have felt like that (although I personally don't agree), we are not working with that team anymore. Regardless of whether or not the changes are in the direction that you like at the moment, know that the infrastructure for generating these changes is much improved, and is much more sensitive to player input. So try to put your Bitter Vet Syndrome aside and work with it

Objection! Nobody cared about the active scanner when it was introduced because you could see everyone on tacnet anyway.
You're probably right. I, unless most Vets, have a terrible memory when it comes to "how things were in the before times". I'll just take your word for it
I also have an "Arkena Slayer" suit. Just sayin
